There are many
wonderful activities that take place on a regular basis at Newcomers.
- Monthly Coffee Meeting. The most important event
is our monthly coffee meeting, which is usually the second Wednesday of
each month. Here we welcome new members, discuss upcoming events, and
sign up for trips and outings.
There is now a crèche available for General Monthly
meetings. Directions to the meeting
- Monthly Newsletter. The Newcomers Newsletter
is available at every monthly meeting. It details both the regular
activities and special events for the month.
- Meet Your Neighbor Coffee Mornings. Because our monthly
meetings are so large, Newcomers hosts several area coffee mornings so
that new arrivals can meet friends in their own neighborhood. These
meetings are held in the home of a Newcomers volunteer and vary
month-to-month.
- Recommended Services Book. Newcomers publishes a book
full of member-recommended, English-speaking services in Athens. It
contains sections on household repairs, doctors, dentists, pet-care,
housing and moving, catering and beauty needs and many more. An
outstanding information packed book which is sold for a minimal cost.
- Scheduled Activities. In addition to the
meetings and coffee mornings, Newcomers also organizes several social
functions.
