Athens Marathon - A Spectators Guide

November 10 is the 37th Anniversary of the Athens Marathon, a tough course of 42,195m

 


SATURDAY 9 NOVEMBER 2019

• 12.30–13.15Opening Ceremony – Marathon Flame Lighting Ceremony (Marathon Tomb) – Torch Relay from the Marathon Tomb to the MarathonStart Venue

• 17.00: 10km Road Race

 

SUNDAY 10 NOVEMBER 2019

• 09.00: Historic Start of Marathon Race at Marathon Town

• 08:15: 5km Road Race

• 11.09: Estimated Finish Time of the 1st Male Marathon Runner



START AREAS

The Marathon Race Start area is at Marathon Town. The start of the 5km & 10km Road Races is on Vass. Amalias Ave in Syntagma Square area.


FINISH AREA

PANATHENAIC STADIUM


No vehicles are allowed in the city centre of Athens and anywhere around the Panathenaic Stadium on Sunday November 10 2019, from 05:00 to 17:45. 


ACCESS TO THE RACE ROUTE – ATTENDANCE

All  race  routes  will  be  free  of  vehicles. 

Parallel  street lanes  will  also  be  free  of  traffic  and dedicated to the Organising Committee accredited vehicles (ambulances, police vehicles, etc.)

All spectators are kindly requested  to  use  public  transportation (Metro and buses outside the race routes), indicated in the maps.

ACCESS TO THE FINISH AREA

Friends, family members and coaches may access the designated spectators' area (stands)

Access to the track of Panathenaic Stadium (finish venue) is allowed only to the finishing runners and the staff of the Organising Committee with specific credentials on their accreditation.
