'The Christmas Story' by Heinrich Schütz

posted Dec 1, 2019, 3:15 AM by Newcomers Bulletin Board   [ updated Dec 1, 2019, 3:18 AM ]

Continuing with our tradition, The Athens Singers present a concert of Christmas music. We will perform selected parts of the Baroque composition 'The Christmas Story' by Heinrich Schütz. Written in the mid-1600's, the piece combines narrative solo music with choral singing filled with lovely, ear-pleasing harmonies.

The second part of the concert will consist of Christmas Carol favorites, in both English and Greek, and the audience will be encouraged to sing along with the choir.

A reception will follow the performance.

Once again we will perform at The War Museum Amphitheatre, with its fine acoustics and easily accessed location.
